"A Laborer is worth His Hire"...

In life it is so easy to want things for nothing. I can remember when I was in business with my tailoring business, having a hard time with people who always thought my prices were to high. It really bothered me and I had to pray to God for wisdom on this matter. I searched my heart and asked God??? Are my prices competitive and fair??? Am I working for you Lord? Lord, test my heart and make sure that I cheat no one? The Lord spoke to my heart and said, "Always remember my daughter, that a laborer is worth his hire!!! Work as though you were working for me.....
To this day, I always keep this in mind whenever I need something done. Whether it is a plumber, an electrician, or any other service that I need. 
So in my own business I kept in mind that if I worked hard for the glory of God and in all fairness the works of my hands were fair and that I would cheat no one. When I kept this in mind, God blessed me more than I can ever say. My business flourished and grew. I had so many sewing jobs, I could hardly keep up. 
I always kept in mind the needy, those who honestly could not afford to have something done. Then it was my choice to work and tithe my time for my God for them. Giving is a beautiful gift from God whether it is our time, our work, our love of others. But it is so wrong for others to take advantage of the hard working man or woman. 
People have the choice to search out good prices on labor and that is wise, but to expect workmanship done for nothing is so wrong. There is no blessing from God, on their part. I have learned this lesson in my own business.

So the next time you need a laborer for work, try to remember his or her position. They have expenses that you don't even think of to cover. The baker has to buy all necessary products to bake. The electrician has to buy lots of wire and outlets and much more. The caterer stands countless hours preparing your food. The plumber crawls in spaces you would never go. And think about this, "How would you feel if your boss asked you to work for less today?"

When you respect the laborer, no matter who she or he is, God sees your intent and He will bless you abundantly. More than you can ever imagine. I know this from experience...
