
"Get out!" Lyndah screamed. "I don't want you here!"
"You signed a lease," I said, waving the piece of paper in front of her. "It's legally binding in seven hundred galaxies."
"Nobody told me I had to leave," Lyndah sniffled.
"You can stay, but your room's there." I pointed to a large closet. "You opted for the immortality clause. This is my home now."
"Can I come out once in a while?"
"Sure."
Adjustment would be hard, but not for me. This was my twenty-third body lease.
I stretched, blinked, and preened. It was good to finally have a home.
