     Man, woman and life.

 A story simply told.

She wanted that they be married; he wanted to first ascertain whether that was the right thing to do. But she said tearfully, ‘You still have doubts?’ He succumbed. They got married.

Then once settled, she said, ‘You don’t love me. You married me for my job.’ He heard her and tried to convince her that that was not so. ‘No that is what the truth is,’ she said. He felt that he hardly had the authority to say much in such matters. By now he knew that she needed to have the last word. He knew that the mistake had been made and was difficult to unmake.

After two decades of marriage she saw how she was wasting her time with him. Why could he not be like other men? Other husbands bent lower in obeisance, while hers was only interested in making a name for him. He tried to find a working relationship in which neither was to be the boss. But that was irritating for her. A true relationship lay in a much greater surrender than her fellow was managing she thought.

After the third decade came to a close, she saw how impertinent he was. She had spent too much time with him to take him seriously anymore. He had not matured, or even evolved. He had stuck to his stupid ways in which he failed to see her point entirely. He was thick headed. Her mind drifted into greener pastures; who could have stuck to him forever? But the world was there to inquire into their affairs. It was therefore necessary to put him into the pot of suspicion. She did that and moved on.
