Black men have every right to live in America without being harassed, victims of police brutality or gun violence. Black men have a turbulent history, but great things and people came from that history that made freedom relevant for all people. Black men need to respect their women more and help change a racist environment by television that is trying make black women feel that all they need is a white man. Look at the commercials on television, all you see is white men with black women and their mixed children. While black men with white women are edged out of the commercial. Black men need to strengthen their families, and save their communities, and help wayward youths from making tragic decisions that enable them to face racist police officers and judges. I know black men are hurting, but nothing hurts more than doing nothing to positively change young black lives from self-destruction and loving a black woman who really needs her black men free.
Sadly, most of what you've said is true. It is time for the black youths to take responsibility for themselves and help to strengthen their families and the communities. They must realize they have to rely on themselves in order to advance in life. I do believe there is police brutality about black folks and this has to change too as no one wants to feel like a second-class citizen.
However, the first step to a better self lies upon the black folks themselves in their willingness to stay together in a marriage when problems arise. The young man and young women should stay and give their spouses all the help and the emotional support they need and not to abandon them and the children. They should ensure the chilren are not going to grow up in a broken home and become broken emotional human beings. They also must not feed negativity or their OWN unhappiness to their children. Children are innocent when born, they do not see their own color of skin as their parents see it. Children make friends with all races and can lead a happy life just like anyone else if the parents WON'T FORCE-FEED discrimination into their minds.
This is not just about the black folks. I see people of other races doing it to their children too. They would constantly remind their children that they are second-class citizens and thus turning their children into unhappy and, in some case, very angry beings.
We must all learn to control ourselves. Even if we had lived a life of unhappiness and knew how we feel about ourselves, but we must not force-feed our own unhappiness into our young ones. We must let them be themselves. The time of life solely belongs to them. Let them live, love, laugh and enjoy the multiple friendship as well as the new technologies. Let them be smart to advance in life. It's their time of life, not yours. We must not spoil it for them!
