Each day I push

my cart as my hunger

grows, will I live to see

another day,

heaven knows.

My feet hurt from

walking long ways,

got holes in my

clothes and shoes

the homeless shelters

are full,

no room for me to stay.

As I scramble

for food, I beg

a lot, others look at

me with pity

as if I deserve my

misery.

In the cold

I pray for death before

The new day

What would I do

For a spared meal

I swear my hunger pangs

are real.

where am I going to lay

no more begging
