Young Zenia Polkovsky had dreams since her childhood, she dreamed of becoming a famous artist, As a child of no more than seven years old, she could not decide whether she wishes to become a famous painter, whose painting would sell for huge sums of money, in every gallery in town; or to become a famous muiscian and compse magical music, or a famous sculptor whose statues will be known all over the world and her fame will make the world forget who were Mikele Angelo or Bernini, and many other famous sculptors and their exrtaordinary creations.

The years passed rahter fast from her point of view, she graduated from high school, served in the army and reached a critical crossroads in her young life,, should she study art or prefer practical studies. She registered at the most famous university to study literature and art. She wished to graduate as an art and litrartue critic, and a lecturer too.

For her living she worked as a secretary in a morning paper editorial.

She was not what one would define as a rare beauty, which would made men lose a heartbeat on seeing her, and turn their heads around to watch her, as she passes them on the street; she had several dates with young men, who did not bother to call her again to fix a second date, and she passed most of her free time reading books, and magazines.

One evening she managed to put her hand on one of the most popular books in the university’s library, a best seller by an unknown author. The book’s protagonists were two sisters in some forlorn village in the wilderness of Siberia; while the plot described their lives from childhood to maturity with all its mixed ordinary and bizarre developments and experiences.

Eureka, she almost uttered the magical word of exultation aloud. All I’ve to do is change the names of the two sisters, the country and village where they live. While I’ll describe my own childhood experiences up to maturity. And my pseudo sister will be my mirror self reflected image in some secluded two horse town, somewhere in eastern Europe with a few changes of course…!

So help me it’s a great idea, she decieded, and sat down to turn each of the best seller chapters to suit her and her pseudo sister own hypothetical. In a matter of just a couple of weeks she had written so to speak, her first novel of some one hundred and twenty five pages.

What a feat, what an accomplishment! She kept thinking elated. But I’m just at the beginning of the long road, which I’ve to cross yet. I must print it and send it to one of the most important publishing houses.

And that’s what she did, and she sent her manuscript to the leading and the most acclaimed publishing house. She waited nail biting with apprehension for only six weeks for an answer; while other authors even known and recognized authors had to wait about three, if they were answered at all. Zenia’s caller told her that her book has a commercialized potential and it will be published. She almost fainted and to sit down holding the receiver close to her right ear, she answered the caller and thanked him with a hardly audible starmmer, after the caller wondered if she is still there.

Her first book became a best seller in all over the best seller lists, in every leading paper in the country. She suddenly became saught by media interviewers, and even by young men that courted her; her life have changed from one end to another, in a matter of days she became a renown celebrity. It took her quite a while to get used to her new status, and by travelling abroad and staying in foreign coutries long periods of time; she regained her lost annonimity, but she could not escape her new reality. Thus she returned home and answered her publishing house request to meet her readers; to sign on her book and to accept interview invitations. She became an entirely different person, and different dreams have entertained her mind. She dreamed of meeting the right man, and raising a family. Her artistic aspiration were quite satified too, and she had no intention to write another book or even a short story, or turn to the plastic arts for instance; although in every interview, in which she took part she declared that she is in mid creation of her second book; according to what her publishing house instructed her to announce publically in each of her multiple media interviews.

‘You must not discourage your readers,’ she was told by her literary agent. ‘And if you’ve lost your inspiration for the time being, we’ll have to hire a ghostwriter for your next books.’

‘And how he’ll be paid?’ Zenia asked intrigued. ‘We’ll sign up a covert contract with him, in which he we’ll agree how much he will be paid for each book and his share in each book revenues.’

‘Okay,’ but provided that after signing the contract you’ll take it on, and I’ll be free.’

‘Sure sweetie, we’ll look after a good looking ghostwriter; and if he’ll suit you you’ll marry him, and we’ll accomplish the perfect solution to our problem.’
