This is a story of young Christian who gota bbeating of his life in a bid to practice his Christian faith, which say's. Help those in need.

It was about 6:27pm, I was coming back from The Government Technical Secondary School football field. Where we had the youth week football/volleyball training. As the president of the Holy Sacrament Parish, Orja Youth Association, I had to carry all the kit used for the exercise. I decided to treck, Chinedu(male) and Oluchukwu(female) are the only Youths living close to my area. We trecked together and they helped me with carying the kits and the football. I wouldn't make it to the subsequent training so I asked Chinedu to take the items home with him so as to make it available for the association when they need it. When we got to the last junction that saparates us, we went our ways and I was alone, just a stone throw to my house.

There is an uncompleted building close to my house, it used to be a hide out for Indian hemp smokers, but lately, I haven't seen them around, could be as a result of the raid on them by the law(police). The police unexpectedly showed up one evening at the "uncompi" as it was commonly called and arrested everyone in the building that evening and whisked them away on their hillous truck.

As i was about to open the gate, i heard someone scream but it was somehow faint. It was as if the person was being tortured. I listened carefully so as to be able to detect where it was coming from and i guessed it might be coming from the uncompleted building. But what could have led someone to that place at that hour of the day? I asked myself as i made my way to the building. As i approached the building, the scream became louder. "please.....plea.......som.....sombody.....he....l...p!". I increased my steps and before i knew what was happening, i was already running as fast as my legs could carry me towards the building. It was obvious someone was in danger, i thought. I didnt stop to give it a second thought, all that mattered was that someone needed help, I eventually got into the buliding panting heavily, I began lookin from one room to another, cautiously. Everywhere was filled with the ordour of indian hemp. The ordour nearly choked me to death as i started coughing. That didnt deter me from satisfying my curiosity; i needed to know what someone would be doing at a place like this at that hour of the day, besides, the person was in danger and needed help.

Standing at the entrance of one of the rooms, i couldnt speak nor breath for a moment. What i saw made my jaw drop. My body was filled with goose pimples. I wanted to run back but i couldn't, i just stood there speechless. Standing before me were six red eyed guys who wore nothing but boxers and they were all breathing heavily. A girl was lying helpless on the floor half-naked and in a pool of blood. There was no doubt that those guys had been forcing themsleves on the poor little girl who i presumed was about18yrs old. I really felt pity for her but how did she end up in a place like that. One of the guys cleared his throat and i was brought back to the present. He made few steps towards me, my legs itched to run but i still couldnt give it a trial. They just stared at me angrily, i wondered what their next action would be. Normally, people who dont belong to their clique do not go there without their invitation and there i was meddling in their business. My heart was beating faster now, the only thing that came to my mind was the beating John Cena got from Brock Lesner at the August 17th summer slam. That was the kind of beating i was going to receive, i thought. Just as i was still trying to figure out what to do next, a heavy slap landed on my face making me go down on my knees. That kind of slap that makes one apologize rather than asking for explanations. I looked up at the guy, he was looking more furious. "i am......am....so....so....so..ri"

They didn't want me dead because when I woke up the next morning at Esut teaching Hospital Enugu, with a drip on my right arm, I was told that I was found lying unconscious at the junction leading to my house at about 7:53pm. The last thing I could remember was trying to tell a guy that slapped me that I was sorry. I tried to ask the people in the hospital about the girl I saw in the "uncompi", but then I remembered that they didn't even know I got my beating from there.

It was a terrible experience that can't be forgotten, though it looked like I enjoyed my days in the hospital, because I discovered how much my Youth members loved me, each an everyone of them came to see me and that sped up my recovery. And am fine now writing this.

That was a terrible experience. You're lucky to be alive. I too, wonder what happened to the girl. I would keep an eye on that place and direct the police there any time you see anyone. If you could recognize anyone of those guys, you might put them in jail.
