Why did I go with him

"Time for bed Angel"
"Yes mama" I yawn, as I went over to kiss her goodnight. Then turning to papa, " goodnight papa."
"Can't you see, I'm busy reading," He grunts underneath his breath.
Shrugging my shoulders, and closing the door gently behind me, I leave the drawing room, when I suddenly hear my papa speak. "You are much too soft with that stupid child, she will have to be taught," he snaps.
"Not yet," I hear mama answer him.
"Do not blame me, I never wanted the kid in the first damn place. She's a bloody nuisance. I will have to take the whip out again." He says.
I suddenly here movement, so running upstairs to my bedroom, I quickly lock the door and manage to push the chest of drawers against it.
"OPEN THE DARN DOOR NOW!!" he hollers, whilst hammering and kicking the door. I quickly open my closet door and climb inside.
Whats going to become of me! I thought sadly to myself, as I start trembling, with my knees drawn up close to me.
'You have to escape__'
I turn around to see who had spoken, but there was no one there. It was just my imagination playing tricks on me, then I heard the voice again. 'You have to run and not turn back. Escape tonight, he is set out to kill you. You have to go immediately before it's too late.'
"Whose there?" I cry in a low whisper, rubbing my eyes.
'I am forbidden to say, but I am destined to save you. Pack quickly and lightly. He will be coming through the door at any given moment.'
I turn and, grabbing a small suitcase, start putting a few essentials inside. The man then grabs the case from me and flings it out of the window. Looking stunned at what he had just done, I run quickly over to see my clothes all lying outside on the grass. "Why?" I sigh.
'We are running out of time.' He says, whilst quickly grabbing my hand. He then pushes me back into the closet and locks the door, then he starts to lift a couple of the floor boards.
"What are you doing? There's nothing down there." I whisper, whilst staring in bewilderment.
But then I noticed something most peculiar, stone steps. Turning to me, he yanks hold of my arm and says 'down you go quickly.'
I follow him as he descends the steps, obviously escaping just in time, as we suddenly hear footsteps overhead. "YOU CANNOT HIDE FOREVER, I WILL FIND YOU," my papa's voice boomed out.
'Do not worry, he can't touch you again. So long as you stay with me, no harm will ever come to you.' The man says touchingly to me, when suddenly it went all black as I was knocked unconscious__
