She stood at the corner of Alter and 13th Street. Just like that, for no reason. There was not much to do on a Sunday afternoon. It was too early for a drink, too early for any action. The streets were departed and that was exactly how she felt deep down inside.

She went for the whole variety, an all you can eat buffet; a few black men, a few white trash, a few married ones. She even tried two at a time but that just hurt too much after a while. She did not really enjoy any of it, she never really liked sex all that much. She just wanted to piss him off, to get revenge over the betrayal.
When you are hurt, you are just hurt and nothing else really matters. You want the other side to feel your pain at all cost, even if it is you who is suffering.
An old man drove by in a worn down Cadillac. It was he who was more worn than his silver Sedan De Ville. He just looked at her and that was enough. She did not need to listen to his words to realize that he mistook her for a $50 whore. Young or old she figured, all men were all the same.
Finally, he showed up. More than an hour late. He looked thinner than back in those days, back when life seemed more simple, before everything went down the wrong way. As he drove away she once again realized that you can not take back things that you have done. She crossed the street into the parking lot and then slowly walked away.
