It is all about Geography, no?

I did not sleep well last night. Why? Why not? It is always for all of the usual reasons. It is raining in Seattle and is sunny in Miami. It is all a matter of geography. Geography class was never my favorite; I was always more of social sciences kind of a guy.
A tall blond stands besides me in the coffee shop. She is attractive, lean, unfriendly. I do not bother to look her way. Men always looked her way with that same smile. She was probably used to their stares. She would not bother to look back in their direction. She heard all of their stories before. What is the point? Men were only interested in one thing anyways. Especially when it came down to a woman who accidentally walked out of a magazine cover just to get her fix of double non-fat latte so early in the morning.
When you don’t sleep, you just don’t get it. Geography always played a crucial role. In Baton Rouge I would sit around for hours at that Community Coffee shop. There used to be a cute Asian who would get my refills for me. That place had bitter tasting coffee. It was absolutely the worst. It almost tasted like they were trying to get back at us just because we all took advantage of their free high speed Internet and their free refills policy. I did not have a computer at the time. I just came for her smile.
Jennifer was a university student who came all the way from Vietnam. Her mother married an American solider back in the day. He moved them all back home to Lafayette when she was only give years old. She probably did not remember much from the village where she would spend hours looking at the rice fields. Now they lived in the small town of Gonzales Louisiana with her two sisters and eighty year old grandmother who never learned how to speak English. The grandmother spent hours looking at the Louisiana marsh. It looked nothing like home. It was all a matter of geography after all.
I never bothered to ask the Asian for her phone number. I was not the only guy she would get refills for with that pretty smile. She probably heard all of these lines before. Men were only after one thing anyways.
