I first met Rachel Madorsky in 2004, while I was serving as President of the International Society for Study of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine. I had been instrumental in inviting her to participate in a panel of recognized healers and clairvoyants in front of an audience of well-qualified, highly credentialed scientists, physicians, educators and others, because she was a peer amongst peers. Rachel's presentation, knowledge, and abilities became evident to all.

In reading Symphony of Your Karma, so much of this became clearly evident – in fact, increasingly so. In this remarkably well-written book, Rachel Madorsky gives us a fulsome, scholarly and significant history of Karma as it has been understood throughout the centuries. Through case studies and enlightening prose, she has revealed Karma’s influence on societies and influential thinkers alike.

Rachel Madorsky’s book is a courageous and informative undertaking, informing us not only of the facts of Karma (the law of causes and consequences), but also the value of past lives and future lives in creating, dealing with, and even modifying Karma. The idea of modifying Karma is, indeed, empowering. Too many of us believe that we are bound by fixed cosmological rules, much as in astrology; but, as Madorsky clearly demonstrates, these parameters can be changed through the power of the human spirit and the human Soul.

Her most important message:

Whereas Karma may be a Cosmic Law, it (like everything else in our lives and destinies) can be examined with enlightenment and can be managed for the betterment of the individual, the society and the progeny who follow.

And, listen to Madorsky in this respect…

“Why does Karma play such an important role in our daily lives? If we develop the skills and understanding to access the information about our Karma and past lives, we are forewarned, and we may be able to correct many things that seem otherwise impossible to change. In every second of our lives, we are all given a chance to make different choices and redirect our destinies. There is always a way out of every situation. We just have to be willing to do the work to change our course.”

And, quoting Madorsky again…

 “If we develop the skills and understanding to access the information about our Karma and past lives, we are forewarned, and we may be able to correct many things that seem otherwise impossible to change.”

This is a courageous point of view. Too many of us seek rules and boundaries set for us by others, and then feel helpless to transcend them. This has certainly been true of many in their views of destiny and Karma. One hundred years ago, for instance, Sigmund Freud revealed how earlier biological experiences may shape and influence our later periods of life, and that they can be changed by insight and effort; thus, access to freedom, of choice and of growth. The same is true of past lives, which may live on in their influence. They can be discovered, and their influence changed. And all of this adds up to and joins with the Law of Karma. The High Self can create and re-create our selves and enable them to grow into Self. In this way, we may view the Law of Karma as an outside, powerful influence; we can also know that it can become subservient to the High Self and modified by our ascended selves, leading to spiritual freedom we all desire.

“The human Soul can be kept pure only if it’s given the freedom of choice. Free will and freedom of choice are the greatest gifts of the Creator to humankind! Each of us has the ability to create our own Karma,” says the wise Madorsky.

My cosmological view of creation and evolution is: The Spirit (the All) has moved (within Itself) to deliver Its energy from static potential into manifestation − actuality. In so doing, the infinitely powerful, potential energy descends through seven levels, ultimately into physical manifestation. The fourth level of descent – the intermediate level – is  the residence of the Soul. The Soul is designed to be the servant of the Spirit. The Soul elaborates a new creation – the physical being, including the human being. At the first level of incarnation, the mental body forms; at the second, the emotional or dream body; and at the third, the physical – in our case, the human body − then enlivened by the life body. When we are in meditation, deep absorption, or prayer with the accompanying opening of the heart, we have removed attention from the physical body, the emotional body and the wandering thoughts of the mental body. We have arrived at peace – the residence of the Soul. By returning to this creative Source we can re-create in the same manner as the Soul creates during the original manifestation. In this way, we can re-form our body. This is the source of self-healing. Herein lays the creative power to change our destiny.

I began to understand the importance of past lives when I transcended the academic restrictions of psychoanalytic training.  I learned that past lives can influence present lives in much the same way as early biographical experiences can influence our present life (in the Freudian model) − This, in turn, can continue back to the previous and yet earlier previous generation. As stated in the Bible, “.... For I, the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation ....” (Deuteronomy 5.9 - 10), 

My belief is that our experiences are stored in the various energy bodies elaborated by the Soul, not only in the physical body but also in the emotional and thought bodies, and then absorbed into the Soul itself, waiting for their opportunity to function in the creation of a new incarnation.  This has much to do with the Law of Karma.

Returning to Rachel Madorsky, she points out with abundant clarity and rich illustrations the presence of and the value of seeking insight into one's Karma, as it has been established in past lives. Investigating various illnesses, afflictions and destructive behavioral patterns, she uses her extraordinary abilities of clairvoyant insight to discover and release the stored up, psychologically traumatic experiences that have created the person's problems. More importantly, she assists and enables the patient to work on their own karmic behavior patterns in order to change them for the better; in order to release them from that which has been established to that which can grow, thus benefitting the self, but also providing a gift for future generations.

In addition to the abundance of instruction in her case illustrations, Rachel Madorsky provides summaries of the lessons to be learned, instructions which are of high value.

A word of caution – Very few of us have the clairvoyant abilities of a Rachel Madorsky.  Nevertheless, the principles are established: the value of self inspection, of insight, of the courageous facing of that which we carry and perhaps don't like to see – all of these become of extraordinary value in shaping our present life. If we recognize that we are continual consciousness (which we are), we can then see and seek in our dreams, in our introspections, in our assistance to ourselves and to others, the presence of past life experiences and let them go. We can reshape our Karma as we evolve forward into the next race of human beings, beyond our present human condition into the future of the ascended human.  This is, for ourselves and for our progeny and the message and the assistance which we gain from the book, Symphony of Your Karma.

So – Rachel Madorsky’s well-written, well-documented, well-illustrated (with clinical examples), lessons in Karma, becomes a guide in life for personal growth and spiritual ascension.
