Quite by accident, the Earth gave up its mysteries to one person as he lay in a rum-induced coma gripping a divining rod. These stories re-tell the history of the area in which these events took place.
I had, at one time, a penchant for overproof rum. Life is full of contradictions, so, of course, at the same time as I developed a craving for rum, I also discovered the joy of water-divining. Strangely enough, this combination caused the earth beneath me to give up its secrets, to be stored in that part of my brain laid bare by the intoxicating effects of overproof rum.
