Healthful greetings on this lovely spring afternoon!
I have been continuing to research on health topics. As so many are affected, I decided to post this information here.
This information comes from several sites including
www.pubmed.gov and www.wikipedia.com as well as my own knowledge in nutraceuticals since 1998.
Both women and men experience hair thinning or loss as they age. These can come from at several sources or causes.
Please see which applies in each particular person.
1. Washing hair with hot water, which can cause hair to break off even at the root. Always use warm water.
2. Using shampoo that contains SLS: sodium lauryl sulfate. Better to use non-SLS shampoo or WEN by chaz dean.
3. Using hormone supplement or replacement therapy. Be sure to eat cruciferous vegetables while on treatment. Soy or red clover foods, supplements or scalp treatments can help to clear the skin of hormonal buildup.
4. Taking corticosteroids for allergies and asthma. #3 applies here as well.
5. Having low vitamin D levels. Should be in the sun for ten minutes regularly, at least twice weekly. Can also supplement ones diet with vitamin D3 which is found in pills, softgels and drops.
6.Not having iodine foods like fish and potato skins regularly. Iodine appears to have a protective effect for the mammary and prostate glands. Radioactive iodine is being used currently in medical studies to treat and kill both mammary and prostate cancers.
Cod has the highest level of iodine as compared to other sources. Some folks have allergies to shellfish. Cod is not in that family. However, other fish such as haddock and pollack also contain small amounts of iodine. These are often used in fish fillets and fish sticks. All of the kids in our family were able to eat fish sticks without allergy reactions. I remember Mom making her fish fillets with a pinch of salt, pepper and a touch of butter for us. None of us had reactions to these types of fish growing up.
7. Having low levels of vitamins A,C, and E in their system. Incorporate a good multi vitamin like Centrum
or Bayer One A Day into one's routine. Nature's Bounty has a good skin vitamin that would be helpful.
8. Poor circulation. Need higher levels of B vitamins, glutathione and PQQ. Can get from a good multi vitamin and Vitapulse from Princeton Nutrients.
Please let me know how this information works for you.
Best to all!
