“Why I Live Where I Live”
My life is what it is and can’t be changed.
My home is where it is, as it should be.
My thoughts are where I want them.
I see only what I want to see.
My life is set and can’t be rearranged.
My home is right as far as I can see.
My thoughts are filled to the brim.
And I am what I was meant to be.
Now I look at life as it passes by.
Amidst the laughter, time to cry.
It was meant not for you but I,
When I see my life passing by.
My home is mine, belongs to no other.
Open space for those who call me brother.
It’s walls are open, no thoughts to smother
It was meant for me and perhaps one other.
My thoughts are places where I hide.
That quiet place where only I reside.
A place that in myself I can confide.
Where with none do I coincide.
This is where I want to live,
Where I can either take or give.
It is the place where I stay in touch
With all my feelings, thoughts and such.
This is why and where I live,
A place I can take or give,
A place to me that means so much.
I live in my mind that needs no crutch
