Waking up Different

Can you imagine going to bed one night having your life the way you like it planed out.

Then.

You wake up different.

Dose that scare you? Just think what that could feel like.

You can’t do what you used to do, want to do.

That is how my life is.

I was working at Wal-mart but something didn’t feel right. It felt off out of place. Like I was a sleep.

Then I woke up.

My life changed in an instant. I used to have energy, like a child. You know what I’m talking about. Bounce off the wall and not run out.

What changed for me? I was born with Cerebral Palsy; my doctor said it would come back in my adult years.

I had forgotten about having this condition. I had the scar on my leg. I could only walk on my heal on my left foot when I started walking. The doctor stretched out my Anchilies Tendon so I could walk normal.

I still have the scar 25 years later. To serve as a reminder of how I woke up different.

I can no longer work because of my Cerebral Palsy. Walking or doing lifting takes my strength away my energy drains out like a hole in a gas line. I go from full to empty in a matter of minutes.

I asked God one day when I found out that my condition had returned. “What am I supposed to do with my life?”

He answered that by giving my condition back. Tell me to slow down and really look at where I was and what I was doing.

I loved to write and draw. Two things I can still do with out to much pain. But I never had the time.

God answered in a way I could never have seen.

When he talks listen!

I did.

And my life changed forever because of that one day. That’s all it takes. A single life changing event one that has no way to return from.

Like going into a maze and finding a different way out. You see the exit but something inside pulls you another direction. To an exit you can’t see.
