Very few people are willing to devote their lives entirely, for the sake of helping others.
A few years ago,I set out on a spiritual journey, in which i had dialoques with a few pastors. The overall impression of the pastors were dissappointing. I believe every pastor is supposed to set examles for his congregation, and others to follow. A pastor is similar to a sheperd who is in charge of a flock. He is to follow in the footsteps of christ. On the other hand,a church is supposed to be a place of refuge, where the sick can be healed, the blind can be lead. Instead, it has become a place of business. There are pastors who will drop their bibles at the sound of money.
A true man of god ,should be willing to lay his life on the line to help others;should be willing to show love to others; share a glimmer of hope, unto the byways and highways; not just in his santuary. There were great men of god, mentioned in the bible like: JOB, DANIEL, SHED RACK, MESHACK AND ABEDNEGO. ALSO IN OUR TIME ,THERE WERE MAN LIKE: MARTIN LUTHER KING JR, NELSON MANDELA AND MOTHER THERESA. THESE MAN WENT THROUGH EXTREME TEST TO DEMONSTRATE TO MEN , THE GOD THEY SERVED. The question should be asked, "who else would be willing to go the extra mile to help others?"
Growing up in a small country, I remembered a radio program that came on the local radio station every sunday morning. A program called unshackled. This program was an out-reached ministry that reached out to people who had lost their way in life, and needed some directions. It was because of one man's love and dedication for people, thousand of lives were changed each year.
