Unshakeable Faith
When life gets difficult, I turn to my faith in God. I often think about people in the bible that turned to God when they faced difficulty. From a non-believer's point of view, it may make zero sense to have faith in the unknown.
God told Moses and the Israelites to go, they went. The Israelites left everything behind to journey into unfamiliar territory.
Daniel 6 recounts the story of Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego. The three men refused to bow down to the king of Babylon, King Nebuchadnezzar. King Nebuchadnezzar had them tied down in the fiery furnace, but their faith in God rescued them from being scorched to death.
Another intriguing story of faith is how Esther helped her people from annihilation.
Haman was the king's highest official. He devised a wicked plan to have all the Jews killed because he hated them with a passion. Much to the dismay of the Jewish people, the king agreed to go ahead with the plan.
Esther's faith in God led her to do the unthinkable. Esther urged all of the Jews to fast and pray for deliverance. Then, risking her own life, she approached the king and revealed her Jewish heritage as well as Haman's diabolical plan.
Her unshakable faith in God saved her people. In a rage, the king ordered Haman to be hung on the gallows—the very same gallows Haman had built for Mordecai.
In 2021 we live in precarious times. My only hope from daily depression and feelings of hopelessness is my faith in God. Upon waking up each day, I do my devotion, and I thank God every day for his bountiful blessings. I can't touch, feel, see, smell, or hold faith, but true faith is real and very powerful.
