Like hamsters on a treadmill, too many people are fixated on the government to solve their problems. We spend too much time going after promises sprinkled around us like mouse bait.
The future looks bleak. My choice is to put my hope in God. God is the only one that can get us out of this mess. I never put much stock in the government to do anything well. Politicians are not to be trusted; they are all liars seeking votes. Once they get elected, they all suffer a major case of amnesia.
Who can we trust? Who is telling the truth concerning Covid? Are stimulus checks helping or crippling the economy? So many questions with few answers. Now they are saying the PCR test is useless.
My only hope right now is to continue to pray daily. There are so many examples in the bible that I can rely on to infuse me with hope.
When I face the test of faith, I turn to the following verses. Right now, I need encouragement and refreshment of my soul. Everyone needs to be reminded from time to time of the hope that God, Jesus, and the Bible offer to us in our daily lives.
ISAIAH 40:31
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
JEREMIAH 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
ROMANS 5:5
And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
ROMANS 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
