One common thing you always hear people say at funeral homes is "He's in a better place. At least he's not in pain anymore." Another common saying is whenever people are killed by a terrorist attack or shot down by a mad gunman, "We know they're with the angels in Heaven now", as though the way to heaven is to just be in the right place at the right time, and that's how you get in. Nothing could be further from the truth in either case. The bible says in Hebrews 9:27: And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. Every person must die at the time appointed, whether it be from old age, illness, sudden death like heart attack or aneurysm, an accident, natural disaster, or terrorist attack. No one knows when it will be their time to die, so the important thing is to be ready because Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. This side of the grave is the time to get ready. Dying by an act of violence does not guarantee you an entrance into Heaven. People in the Armed Forces who die in wars do not go to Heaven just because they were a soldier fighting for their country; it is only if they are saved. For John 14:6 says: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. The only people who will be admitted into Heaven are the ones who have put their trust in Jesus' death on the cross and ressurection the third day as payment for their sins. If we put our trust in Him, then we will not be judged for our sins;; they will be forgiven through Christ's shed blood.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God

Luke 16:22-23 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried: 23: And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

II Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee; behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation)  

 Last Chance Or Too Late

 Would you rather hear "Last chance

or "Too Late

While you're alive there is still time

to be saved and not wait

If you hear the spirit

wooing and calling

now is the time to accept Jesus

and to quit stalling

Today may be the day that is

your "Last chance"

Jesus has already paid for your

sins in advance

Tomorrow may be the day that you

hear "Too late"

You never know when you'll be standing 

at eternity's gate
