Which direction are we headed? Is our actions leading us further into more problems or are they leading us to God's best?

Dear Reader… This morning, as I’m sitting here in my office, I am truly getting a taste of God’s awesome power. As I’m looking out my window, the trees are swirling around and whipping back and forth, as we are now experiencing a wind storm. What amazes me; is how God allows the storms to come but yet He has control over them, as though He holds a control stick in hand. The wind may gust to a high speed but then a calm moment seems to follow, which is only a reminder to me that a powerful God is in control. Sometimes I don’t think we realize how powerful of a God we serve. How is it that we focus so much on the weakness, of what seems to be a powerful circumstance, rather than focusing on the power of a mighty God…a God who has control over every part of our life? Why do we allow our thoughts to be carried away with the worst, rather than turning away from these moments, to seek God’s best for our lives? As I have been thinking on these thoughts this morning, God has led me to a verse in Jeremiah 29:13, which reads… “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” How many times do we pray and seek God for His help but yet we walk away and turn our thoughts back towards a weak circumstance that only allows us to lose the faith we once had, when we first talked with God? You know…I could sit here right now and focus on what I’m seeing outside my window or I can choose to look beyond the moments that attempt to make me believe the worst and look to the One, who has control over these storms. How often do we choose to allow fear and doubt to take us by the hand and lead us to a place, where all we do is suffer needlessly, when this was never God’s intention? Today we have two choices. We can either allow ourselves to be carried away with a stormy circumstance or we can seek God with all our hearts and look to Him as a source of refuge, until the storm ceases to rage no more. I truly believe that the decision we make will either bring us relief or keep the problem alive, in a needless way.
