When my ex-wife and I were dating, she told me one day, that she needed her checkbook. "Where is it," I asked. "In my file cabinet," she responded. She pointed to the cabinet above the stove, and when I opened it, an avalanche of papers fell on top of the stove and on the floor! THIS is your filing cabinet?" I asked. She responded, "Sure."
If and that's a bit IF...we got married...I knew it wouldn't last...and it didn't. Dis-organized people can push your buttons every step of the way...to the mental institution.
I am not a psychologist, but I think being dis-organized all the time is a personality dis-order, and I think people are born to be dis-organized...and no amount of screaming and yelling is going to change things, etc. And, I think disorganization was one of the reasons my ex and I parted after seven years of marriege. You cannot spend your life screaming and yelling at each other, and still like the person! I think being disorganized is the fastest way to the divorce court.
In my opinion, if you live with a SLOB, he or she will push your buttons for many years to come, and I feel sorry for you, because I've been there...I've done that!
