As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

My business unit recently moved into a new building because we needed more space.  The views from the new building are spectacular.  From the higher floors, you can see the towering office buildings of the town center in one direction and breathtaking mountain ranges in the other.  One day as I was enjoying the views, it dawned on me that the higher you are, the more you can see the big picture.  In the same way, the more we turn our hearts to God and seek His wisdom, the more we can see the circumstances of our lives from heaven’s perspective.

Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, the ways of the Lord are higher than our ways.  God has a plan for our lives that’s bigger than anything we can think or imagine.  We can trust in God’s providence and have confidence that God is working out the details of our lives for our good (Romans 8:28, NIV).  God’s Word will not return to Him void and will produce fruit in our lives when we place our trust in Him.
