Ephesians 3:20-21 NIV
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
In this life, we will come upon battles that seem to be too strong for us to overcome. Battles on our job, in our families and in our finances not only hurt us but can sometimes devastate us. While it may seem like these battles are being fought in the earthly realm, the real influence behind these battles is in the spirit realm. This is spiritual warfare. The evil one will use people and circumstances in the natural to fight us in the spiritual. As we do more for Christ, we can expect the attacks of the enemy to increase. Similarly, as we get closer to breakthroughs in our lives, the enemy will turn up the heat with his attacks to stop us from fulfilling our potential in the kingdom of God.
We need strength more powerful than our own to fight these spiritual battles. We can obtain this supernatural strength from the Holy Spirit. Christ will dwell within us when we exercise faith in Him. Christ wants to inhabit our spirit and make a home there. As we live our lives more and more in line with the Word of God, we create an environment within us that Christ can call home. When Christ abides within us, we are supplied with all the power we need to battle spiritual warfare.
If we look back over our lives, we should find many instances whereby God supplied us with the necessary power to battle spiritual warfare. Over the time of our lives, we should remember how God has used His power to bless, rescue and heal us. This same power still works within us today. By remembering all that God has done for us, we can have a confident expectation for what God’s power can do for us even now and also in the future.
Ephesians 3:20 tells us that God can do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine. What may seem impossible for us to do in our power is possible in God’s power. There are no limits on what God can do in our lives. Knowing this, we should have an attitude of great expectation for what God can do in our lives.
God’s supply is limitless. All of the prayers of the saints will not dry out God’s supply of grace. We can continue to ask God for His strength and help because His supply has no boundaries. This power that God supplies within us is sufficient for us to win the spiritual battle. If we strive to create a holy temple for God within ourselves, God will dwell within us and provide us with inner strength that is more than enough to conquer all that the evil one plans against us.
