As spiritual human beings, connected to a higher power, we may not know what choices to make regarding both the important and the not so important decisions in our lives, and therefore decide to delegate this responsibility to the Universe.  We may want to let the Universe manifest what is best for us without providing much effort or input.  This attitude, despite its spiritual tone, does little to contribute to our spiritual growth in our human body. 

In this physical life we need to take action to manifest our needs, wants and wishes with the Universe’s help.  Our relationship with the Universe is that of co-creator and requires us to actively participate to influence in what we desire to manifest.  As we grow spiritually, and thus manifest more, we will have a better sense of what is best for us - due to more confidence and a stronger connection with the Universe.

In the context of Tending to Your Garden Within, it is important to actively plant, nourish, and feed your garden within.  Our intentions and subsequent actions will magnify assistance from the Universe, resulting in the manifestation of that which we desire.  If we become inactive in our duties of tending to our garden within and just leave it to the Universe, we will have a garden within that will not resemble what we envisioned.

Trusting the Universe gives us more energy in our daily lives to strive toward our goals, doing our best at the task at hand, and not worrying about the possible outcomes.  It is this trust, that after a days hard work we can rest and rejuvenate in the evening.  The poem below illustrates different aspects of trusting the Universe.

What does it mean to leave our affairs to, or trust the Universe?

What is our relationship with the Universe in our daily life?

Are we co-creators with the Universe 

or do our efforts not make a difference?

is not

 driving on a busy highway with our eyes closed.

Trusting the Universe

is

driving carefully on the highway

and trusting that we will arrive safely to our destination.

Trusting the Universe

is not

hoping to get a new job with no effort on our part.

Trusting the Universe

 is

constantly honing our technical skills and looking for new opportunities

and trusting that our search will provide us the most suitable job.

Trusting the Universe

is not

sitting around doing nothing ,waiting for something to happen.

Trusting the Universe

 is

making your intentions known to the Universe,

acting toward your goals

and being open and trusting to all the possible ways that they may manifest. 

Trusting the Universe

is

doing our best

to be open to all the possibilities

with awareness and a clear heart.

The Universe is not our slave

we are co-creators with the Universe.
