While we may hear alot more about consumer debt and bankruptcy today, it's been an ongoing problem for numerous families for quite awhile.  As the President of a non-profit debt education organization, author Mitchell Allen has worked with over 200,000 financially troubled people.  This book covers a wide variety of topics, from the warning signs of financial distress, managing the emotional stress of financial problems, making a plan to get out of debt, and more.  Much more than a "how to budget" book, the author simply and straightforwardly explains the options available for dealing with money problems, offering both hope and practical advice. 

I've personally read lots of financial books and manuals, and taken classes in personal finance and educating people about personal finance.  This guide covers more alternatives and offers more advice, information and actual useful content than any other single source I've ever come across, including college level classes that lasted an entire semester.  The author makes the information available in a helpful and easy to comprehend manner, and unlike some guidebooks you don't need a financial background to decipher it.  I would highly recommend this as the "go to" manual for dealing with financial problems and debt.
