The question of the true Shakespearean authorship has been a riddle for 400 years.
Many people have found it difficult to believe that a country boy from Stratford with only a grammar school education could possibly be the greatest English poet of all time. Some say the greatest poet period.
Many alternative candidates have been offered up: Francis Bacon, Christopher Marlowe, etc., and the current favorite: Edward de Vere, the Earl of Oxford.

But if this is logical, something similar may be said of the Beatles: how could a group of untutored musicians from a cultural backwater like Liverpool possibly be the greatest composers of the 20th Century?
As a second guess, I would proffer up Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer, getting together to pull off a massive joke on the world of Rock.
