CHRISTINE BLASEY FORD
This is a true story.
One night, in the summer of 1982, I was driving down East-West Highway in Bethesda, Maryland, when a woman waved me down to the side of the road.
She was hysterical, crying, hiding her face. I asked her if she wanted to go to a hospital, or to the police, or whatever. I told her I would take her wherever she wanted to go.
She directed me to another neighborhood, and suddenly jumped out of the car at a stop sign and ran down the street.
I felt so helpless.
Was it Christine Blasey? I have no idea.
But I do know that men abuse women every single day.
And get away with it.

My true experience 40 years ago with a young man so full of himself that he challenged me with violence is related in my comment to Mel Hathorn's article today. That young man has run for the Senate and Governor as rival to Joe Manchin several times, and lost.
