Ground hog Day.......I laughed, no way did that little creature want to come out into a cold world this tear .... He just sat in that log thinking..."Yah gotta be kidding."......and when he did, he did the shadow thing.

Guess winter still has its grip ...Ground Hog day of course is truly an unscientific way to predict the coming of Spring but Y' know, sometimes Unscientific people can get it right just because they "know."

Everyone is talking about Global Change now instead of Global Warming. My unscientific belief is that the currents of the seas have way more to do with weather patterns than carbon dioxide belching; and the poisoning of the water ways has much more to do with much more than anyone knows or  will admit.....

El Nino and Al Nino and IL Nino and "Oh it's a Nino;"    and the Gulf stream    and lots of deep water currents we haven't even explored yet; and the poisoning of the earth and the water and fishes and animals and ourselves..... has much to do with our health ....and the health of the Lands... and the weather changes ...but as I say I have not done any scientific studies on any of this so it is opinion and observation and reading the "experts" only that have given me my conclusions.

I do have this observation.....the weather patterns in Australia are almost identical to what they were a hundred years ago according to the records. The first half of the 20th century in Australia, was hotter and drier than the second half..... Now again this is not truly scientific for that could just be coincidence...one would need to follow the patterns for many centuries to be sure one is sure.

There was concern about the hole in the Ozone Layer in the 70'S and we were bringing on an ice age and everyone was going to try and squeeze into Australia because the Northern Hemisphere would be covered in deep ice. Now the Ozone layer is closing, the hole diminishing, I read that this is causing the earth to heat up.SOOOOOOOOOOOO.....

To conclude,... my unscientifically proven theory is that there is more we don't know than what we do, and maybe the Ground Hog with his instincts untarnished, is still a gauge to be respected.
