Philosophy gives us hope...I hope?

Philosophy 101

Defined by The Devil’s Dictionary as…
”A route of many roads leading from nowhere to nothing.”

It appears that the author, Ambrose Biers, thought little of philosophy, however we of later days find much value in it.

Were it not for philosophy many of the things that are not there would never be.

Philosophy gives us hope…I hope?

I sought the meaning of philosophy long ago from other “Natural” dictionaries, and returned to them to find their definitions had not changed with none being appropriate for us at this time.

The subject seems to be mysterical?

Philosophy originated in ancient Greece, (the country not the lubricant,) where even ancientier old men of the highest quality education that home schooling could provide, with nothing better to do, went about the countryside spewing orations to whosoever would listen.
For lack of nothing better they were know as Philosophers.

Their spewings were known as “Useless Drivel,” but later changed in a marketing effort to Philosophy, where we can see where Ambrose acquired his interpretation had he been living, which he was not.

One of the leading philosophers of the day was Aristotle, with who/whom Alexander The Great found so boring he went off and conquered the world rather than listen to him…giving credence to philosophy in a bizarre way that continues.

We would yet to be here if not for philosophy, but rather some other existence known only to the route leading from nowhere to nothing.
