I HIGHLY CONCUR!!!
I must be honest…I’ve never liked that song. I won’t go into why, other than to say most people can’t even sing it, and usually forget the words.
Every now and then it sounds Really Good when played by a Good Band, but that is rare.
I suggest replacing it with, GOD BLESS AMERICA, a tune that always makes by back hairs stand up.
However even that is not without scrutiny.
“From the mountains, to the prairies, to the oceans…white with foam?
There’s no foam in the oceans…maybe a little bit?…If someone is doing a wash?
I suggest…to REALLY make it American, change that line to…
”To the Breweries…White with foam.”
NOW THAT’S AMERICAN!
I’ll sing that song with one hand over my heart, and another holding a Frosted Foamy Mug of Yuengling.
