Same name?

Some of you, among others including myself, may have wondered why Films never seem to include actors with the same names as their characters?
Having the same name would seem beneficial.
It would appear advantageous when calling them out.

I’ve checked with my Hollywood Insiders and found the opposite to be true .

They have in fact tried that very thing some time ago.
A bit of a problem arose when the director called out a name on the set, and the person in question did not know if he was calling him or the character?

Confusion swept through Hollywood literally overnight, as sets shut down and production times increased.

An unknown law was instituted requiring casting directors to only hire actors with different names as their characters, unless they were willing to change, which is why we see so many actors with different names.
Tom, Dick, and Harry are actually the same person except Harry has since been changed to Larry.

My first name is Ambrose, which pretty much allows me to play anybody. Except when they see me coming, they change the name of the character.
