I really promised myself I'd go to bed early tonight (defined as being in bed between 1-2 a.m.) but it's amazing how the itch to reseach one thing takes a person like me into totally obsession. Hence, I can stay up long enough to have fun writing this teaser.
Ergo, and I write this as satire in dedication to Broadway theme songs: or in other words, "I feel silly! Oh so silly! I feel silly, and nilly, and WIIIIIILD!"
Fire 1:
After embarking to check out the truth on a missing persons forward I got from a wonderful but oh so gullible friend of mine, I went to my favorite snoop site, www.snopes.com, and typed in the words "missing persons."
After going through a bevy of boring reports and hoaxes, I found one about the Statue of Liberty. My first thought, "oh my, some nut out there is probably trying to say that aliens built Lady Liberty just like they say about the pyramids."
Fire 2:
Well, everyone knows that the only pyramids are the ones built by corporate America and the relatives in their family eschelon while the average Joe and Josetta work for laughable wage that it makes us want to cry. But what made me sit back and go "hmmm?" was the fact that I found myself duped by a historical lie. . . The Statue of Liberty was not patterned after a black woman.
Truth is, there are at least four of these myths that even loudmouths will purport as truth for racial diversity purposes. No need to get into the messy details, but a racist is a racist, regardless of what nationality. I'd like to say that I'm happy with the behavior of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, (note the lack of the term "Reverend" because as long as Jesus Christ himself choose not to be called "Rabbi" by his compatriot Jewish associates, why should I call a flesh and blood human being something that isn't listed on the birth certificate. I always thought people used titles to feel "one up" above anyone else.
But just let anyone of any status run out of toilet paper and their sitting on the can?
Now that's equal status!
Anyway, I read this link (see below) about how the statue represented a black woman model, when all it was representing was a combination of Bartholdi's stern-faced momma, his mistress, and his wife, none of whom were black unless they were cleaning out chimney ashes like Cinderella.
Fire 3:
Then there's the rumor about how the broken chains on the statue's ankles represented something about being freed from slavery.
Slavery? Remember that laughable wage thing above? That ain't got jack to do with slavery. That's just avarice in action (the rich capitalist) and ignorance (the habitual consumer too busy watching tv instead of reading Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad Poor Dad") combined.
Without giving away the end of the movie, once anyone goes "click" on this link below, and thinks I'm a racist for writing this. . . heed Pee Wee Herman's words:
"I'm rubber and you're glue and whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks on you. NeeyaaNeyaaa!"
We talk about "isms" all day long. I just want to know, "what the heck happened to speaking the colorless truth?
Well y'all, my shift over. Time to count sheep and leaping Mel Gibsons.
Note: the following link, "Shades of Liberty" is only meant for Americans who want to celebrate and don't mind a bit of satire. So if you ever wondered what it would be like if Monty Pyhon & Pink Floyd teamed up, you're about to find out.
So buckle up SugahCup, this animation is WIIIIIILD!
