An old man in a chaise lounge lay dead in a grassy median as hungry babies wailed around him. Around the corner, an elderly woman lay dead in her wheelchair, covered up by a blanket, and another body lay beside her wrapped in a sheet. . . .
"I don't treat my dog like that," 47-year-old Daniel Edwards said as he pointed at the woman in the wheelchair. You can go overseas with the military, but you can't get them down here."
If I could write a letter to our leaders, it would go a little sump'n like this. . .
My Dear President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard Chaney (by the way, where the heck is Cheney):
We know you waited when our brothers and sisters suffered in the burning tower. We know you let Saudi's out of the country when they knew about Osama. So now can you explain to me, PLEASE tell me, how far is it from Texas to Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama, etc. and how long does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Rolled people? Four days, just to treat them like prisoners? They are wrapped in misery, coated with grief, and surrounded by nothing but bureaucracy.
Are you more concerned with loss of life, or loss of oil? Are you more concerned with loss of exported seafood and tourism dollars, or with the loss of some of our most beautiful educational landmarks and documents in this country that are gone forever? Are you more concerned about order, or hungry people who've lost their livelihoods, regardless of color or economic status.
Everybody is poor now in New Orleans. Does Walmart have enough to spare after getting back insurance money for those who sure worked at Walmart, for no benefits at minimum wage?
By the way, what about the three cross burnings in one night in Durham, NC? What year you say, Mr. President? Try 2005.
We need justice, not preaching. We don't need a nation with over 700 hate groups (www.tolerance.org) when your people can't even find International Public Enemy Number One with a bullet.
The people are moaning, don't you hear them calling? Don't you hear them calling just like the people overseas trying to kill us, who never asked for our help?

I am just appalled at just how ‘some people in LA’ are handling the tragedy that has befallen them, especially in New Orleans. The Rapes of young children, the looting, etc. How will these people four months from now, feel when some saneness of the situation comes into play, when ‘peace’ is restored. It seems those with inherit faith will carry their hope onward and those with no hope shall waddle in despair and look for ways to prey upon our fellow man, take what they feel is due them, as shown and reported to us day-by-day.
Mr. President, We Got Problems and Hollywood got it’s Made for TV Movie.
Andrea's input...she's looking over my shoulder
I think any letter to the President should cry of emotions
and saddness for these people; the government should be ashamed of themselves for taking so long to help our fellow citizens. And we are PROUD of this???
Sign me disgusted....
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :( >tears <
