Isn't it interesting how the world isn't giving us a hand at all, when we have always been there for the rest of the world. Good God what is the government thinking! What are these people in New Orleans supposed to do? Drink bourbon and tap dance? S.O.S. to Tony Blair: Put down that blasted teapot man, we have a disaster over here. (What do you mean, "Sorry ol' chap, can't spare a bloke or a dime.") I just hope the tourists don't catch a bullet. What would that do to the city's reputation???

Actually, many other countries have offered help - Cuba and Venezuela come to mind instantly, since Bush's typical 'spit in the face' reaction after Venezuela's offer is etched in my brain, and the extreme generosity of Castro, all things considered, in my heart. Bush's comment is "we didn't ask any other countries for help". Blair offered, and is waiting for is offer to be accepted. I believe that is quite prudent, considering this administrations aversion to people who seek 'hand outs'. Other countries have offered, as well.
