Read this with your soul. Color was only necessary for raising awareness of this plight that FEMA ignored. (I wonder why no one mentions the rich, black Republicans? How about those who ship our jobs overseas, like banks and supply houses that made it harder for Americans to live the American Dream?)
They are just as guilty of ignoring the people of New Orleans.
Too bad the sacrificial lambs of the other end of the Gulf with Katrina ended up getting everyone prepared out in the wake of Rita's wrath. I have friends, family, even ex-family there.
But in my heart I STILL feel nagged that because Texas is Bush's home state, that all they did in a few days could have easily been done in New Orleans. But people will still be left behind. Some by choice, others because they ran out of buses.
What I really fear is the lives of the police and firefighters. What's left to fight with a storm over 300 miles wide spinning at almost 175 mph?
Everybody needs to just get the hockeysticks out because hell is about to hit!!!
Attending financial fundraisers while all this was going on right next door caused me to lose faith in the whole "no child left behind/right to life" lies being told. I agree with supporting life. But let's get our priorities straight, people of Congress! And as far as Mayor C. Ray Nagin goes, the hand that fed him bit back this time. (He's knows what I'm talking about--Corruption in politics year after year after year, and turning his back on people during the good times. Don't blame Bush.)
The poor and immigrants, forced immigration included (i.e. slavery) built America to greatness. These inequities should not be allowed. Don't forget the poor, black, brown, red, white, etc.
Politics should not determine quality of life. Jeb Bush in Florida and his brother in the White House stood up for a brain dead woman on a feeding tube. They own stock in Texas oil wells. Right or wrong, this is from my perspective. Fairness is political, and it should never be such.
I rest my case. blessin's in love,
c.
