Oil is now in the $70.00 per barrel range and is expected to go higher. Most major carriers have announced that they will be raising their fuel surcharge by the end of the week up to $20.00 more per round trip. That is on top of the up to $50.00 increase in the fuel surcharge increase we saw last month. CNN reported Air travel is strong; the airlines have reduced the number of seats by almost 2.6% and overall airfares are 12.5% higher this year over last year’s prices. Do not fool yourself; showing up at the airport and expecting a last minute discount is not how the airlines operate their business. . .
