The "Rare Thailand Parrot Flower" is Impatiens psittacina. It was identified in 1901 at the Royal Botanical Garden Kew. The flower is endemic to Thailand, Burma, India, Vietnam and other regional countries. Very rare in nature, it is found in several color variations. Cyth'a: Interesting flower indeed. Our brains are wired to seek patterns that relate to the familiar. That is why we see a parrot in the bloom and why people see Mary in the clouds or religious images in a cheese sandwich.
