A short say on fear.
Fear, one of the most powerful emotions within us, more so because so many things stem from it; anger, hatred, jealousy, all the negativity within us flow from this one thing called fear, and it’s our worst enemy. You could say that at a base function fear is to warn us of danger, but it should not make us afraid to face it. As a believer in Christ, God did not give us over to the spirit of fear and yet it’s one of the hardest obstacles to ever overcome in our lives. And perhaps after all that is its function, to overcome, to conquer the fear of failure, the fear that your relationship, or marriage will be a failure, or just within your own family, the fear of not living up to their expectations. It takes on many guises, many forms, many shapes, and it can strike without warning.
Fear of failure is the father of failure and perhaps the greatness of our fears shows us the littleness of our faith, especially so if you’re a believer in the Almighty. And where does fear come from, it comes from the world, it is of the world and not of our father. It is the tool of the enemy, the ammunition of darkness, it’s their greatest weapon against us. But if you stop and think about it, the fact that they must use fear to control and manipulate us shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that they have no power over us. If darkness wanted to just destroy us, then it would just do it. But it can’t it has to use tactics like fear to overcome and overwhelm us. And it succeeds so greatly because we give into it, whether it be big or small.
Fear is the darkroom where negatives are developed, and I know that it’s easy to tell someone that all we have to fear is fear itself, and while that’s such a true statement, it’s not so easy to put into practice. And as believers in Christ, what do we really have to fear, our father is the creator of us and of all things, including this world. Darkness, wickedness, evil, has no power apart from that which we give it. Can the Devil really, truly claim your soul, or does he make one believe that he can, and because we do believe we fall deeper and deeper into darkness, into evilness and our inequities. Until we reach the point of no return where we can see no way out and no hope.
Fear tends to produce the thing that it’s afraid of; love, light, hope, these are the wonderful mechanisms the creator has given us; fear and all its connotations are not from the God of the living, they are from the world, and the world is a rat race, and the rats seem to be winning, but they aren’t, and fear certainly isn’t. If so, then why do people risk their lives to save other people, even complete strangers. If you were to see a little child in the middle of a busy road, with traffic coming in all directions, you wouldn’t hesitate to run onto that road to save that child, with no fear or thought of your own safety, but with only the one idea in mind of saving that child, telling yourself that this child will live today. Where is fear then? It’s on holiday isn’t it.
Fear is a state-of-mind that we can all overcome, whether it be tiny, small, big, or huge. Let’s never forget that God sent his only begotten son to do what? To destroy the works of Satan within us. And whether you’re a believer in Christ and our Father in heaven, or not, we do not have to be believers in fear, the number one weapon of the enemy. Many of us are so filled with fear that we go through life running from something that isn’t after us, and our worst enemy is fear. Don’t give into it, don’t let it dictate your life; the highway of fear is the shortest route to defeat and to have no fear is to truly find contentment in life, after all when we can think of yesterday without regret and tomorrow without fear, we’re near real contentment.
Fear not tomorrow, God is already there.

Fear, on many levels, is rampant in our society today. Largely because of the way we receive information. Psychologists tell us we are born with only two fears: the fear of loud noises and the fear of falling. All the other fears are instilled by learning, from others and from experiences. I have much experience and have found that most fears that most people have are totally unfounded in fact. But the Internet, making everyone a witness to everything by taking a video or a photograph of something and then putting it online for everyone to see, enhances the fear in people from rumor and innuendo that results.
You may say that the fear comes from the devil. But I say that our ability to overcome fear comes from the devil in the details. Statistically, most fears, like crime in my neighborhood, are unfounded. Any survey will show that most people are good and caring. When we blow out of proportion the bad and the evil, something that preachers do on Sundays and rumors we hear, alters our perspective making us fear more than we are really in fear of.
The only fear we have to worry about "is fear itself." FDR
