Teens, we have to be proactive, not reactive... Take charge of your life. Don't hand control of your future over to someone else. Too many of us wander aimlessly day-to-day believing that we're doing okay, and everything is going to turn out alright. Well, I got news for you. It ain't! And if everything does turn out alright, then that isn't good either!

“Wow!” you say. You think I'm being too tough or too mean! I'm not. Right now I'm the best friend you have ever had? You just don't know it yet! I'm the first one that has told you the truth?

You may or may not appreciate how I'm talking to you right now, but regardless, I'm going to tell you the truth. Now pay attention, teens, because you may never hear this sage advice again! Are you ready? Okay, here we go...

If you sit back and don't plan your life; you're not being proactive. Life will eventually happen to you. You won't be able to stop it. Life will happen and good things will pass you by. Somehow the forces of the universe will work in someone else's favor. If you're not proactive, then society will force you into being reactive.

Decisions you should have made and probably really want to make will be taken out of your hands. These decisions will be decided by circumstances that mysteriously seem to be beyond your reach. Society will leave you a sub par life or maybe an alright one at best.

Chances are your life won't end up as the shinning star that you want it to be. That's a shame because life really should be enjoyed and lived to its fullest each and every day! If you are able to live life fully, at the end of your journey when you're on your front porch watching a beautiful sunset, you won't be rocking in a chair of regrets.

Create this type of fulfilling life through being proactive and making the invisible, visible. If you do this, the quality of your life will shoot right up and it will put you in a better position to win in life and to help others win in life as well.

Now I know what you're thinking. How do I do this? And what does “make the invisible, visible” mean?

Well, to start with, you need to start believing in yourself; even if you have to pretend that you are a superstar. When faced with tough decisions about your life, ask yourself, “What would a superstar do?” From this vantage point, I believe the correct answer will come to you and you'll figure out what needs to be done.

Next, look around you. Every man-made thing you see did not exist at one time. The cars, chairs, pools, doors, and even some certain old, wise, high-quality people weren't developed yet. All of these things only existed in someone's mind at first. The rest of the world couldn't see these things at the time. They were invisible. They didn't exist yet.

Someone, however, decided to take the invisible and make it visible. Now we can all see the cars, chairs, pools, doors, and even some certain old, wise, high-quality people. And guess what? We can all, as a society, now enjoy them and benefit from their development too!

I don't know what you are involved in at this time of your life, but it's something really special; I just know it! Now if you plan and work on this thing tirelessly, someday the world will be a better place because of your work ethic and your contribution to this world. If you let society hand you the left over scraps, then not only will you suffer, but your family will suffer. In addition, all your friends and all of humanity will suffer too because they will all have to live without your best and this special thing.

Now teens, heed my advice and make the invisible, visible by creating the life you want, not the one society leaves you by default. It's time to go learn, lead and lay the way to a better world for all of us. Thanks in advance.
