Special thanks to Ms. Amy Machiela, middle school teacher in CLK Schools, Calumet Michigan, for sharing these suggestions for students to use when they have completed reading Living On Sisu: The 1913 Union Copper Strike Tragedy.
The suggestions are geared to middle school, or high school students for Language Arts and American History and include a wide variety of ideas. Students with many different talents and skills will be able to find a way they can demonstrate what they have learned through reading the book.
Teachers can use these for a final assessment, a major grade, or offer them as extra credit projects.
