A very good, well researched article. It is strange that some people believe that fictional characters are real simply because they have been written about. I especially liked the reference to Jesus Christ as being a well written character of fiction. I write science fiction quite often. Without my knowledge of science, my stories would be merely fantasy with no scientific basis. Arthur C Clarke, by writing realistic science-fiction, as created a number of visions that have come to pass like our telecommunication satellites. I certainly would like to see his elevator to space built.
