Scripture: Ephesians 3:16-20

“Now unto him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to the power that is at work in us” (Ephesians 3:20).

 Devotional Focus

Several years ago somebody dear to me left me some property. Over the years I have thought about getting the necessary legal procedures dealt with but I have not yet done taken these steps. I own the property but have not been able to do much with it because I have pursued others things I feel were more important.

 I sometimes think that it would worth my while to have the proper documents as I would be able to access needed funds to complete projects that are important to my family. The fact is, I have made choices that have over the years hindered my ability access what is rightfully mine.

 I compare my experience to how many believers respond to the verse in today’s devotional. God is able to do far “more than all we can ask or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20). The core of the matter, though, is that he is able to do in us as much as we choose to allow him to do. We have to submit to God and allow him to work through us, then we will experience his awesome power in our lives and circumstances.

 Today’s Reflections

 Today, think about an area in your life in which you have procrastinated and the benefits that you have missed because you have not allowed God to work through you. Ask God's help and guidance to address the situation so that you can accomplish the necessary tasks according to God's purpose for your life.

 Prayer

 “Our Father, we thank you for your grace and mercy. Father, thank you that you are ready to do great things in us and through us. We confess that we have hindered a greater dimension of your power from working in us through our unbelief and wrong choices. We make fresh commitment to allow your power to flow through us as we trust you each day. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen”
