Mr. Police, Who is Your God?

Defending cities and states across America is a difficult for law enforcement officials, and they honorably do their part so many of us can live in peace. There comes a time for governments to reconsider that the work hours and conditions of police are stressful or maybe they to be recertified with sensitivity training. Before I could finish this chapter another black teen was shot in Wisconsin, and once again, the ‘Black Lives’ demonstrators show the world that they are tired of police killing black men. Amos, the prophet of the bible, famously decried, “ ….But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream... “ Sadly, the only thing flowing like a mighty stream is blood of unarmed black men, because justice has dried up and righteousness lies in the tears and hearts of the ministers that speak at their funerals. I truly commend police officers for doing their job, however, I strongly believe that the fear of black men in general evoke fear and a shoot first initiative in areas of America heavily populated by African Americans. In order to examine the mentality of white officers in the majority of shooting black men, we need to question their religious practices.     

            Moreover, religion is a private practice or way of life for us all, and everything we do, consciously we understand that a higher power exist. Now, what does the religion of police officers has to do with the duty they perform for employment? I say, plenty, because a higher power or God, has the instrument to spiritually awaken the strengths that are dormant in white police officers that have an innate fear of black men. Police officers duty is to protect, serve and establish boundaries of understanding for the communities they serve. I understand that communities have changed and criminals have become more violent and have weapons more lethal than that of police. However, that does not mean that everyone that looks violent, is violent and everyone that appear to be committing a crime is engaging in criminal activity. I strongly believe that police have the hardest job in America, because everyday they clock in for work, could be their last. The culture of distrust amongst white police and black America has to improve, and the only way for improvement is that both need God. Today, America is making God’s work a profit sharing entity. They believe in God for profit, or when things go south with their health, other than that, God and religion is being stripped slowly from our lives. If you look at the children that are forbidden to pray in school or before and after school games or programs, they are becoming recalcitrant to laws and positive parental instruction, and now they are adults trying to find in life who cares for them. The society we have today, is fear laden white police, Judges and government personnel, who are eager to throw away the key on black men who they feel is not going to do anything with their lives. White police should feel that they are doing society a favor by shooting black men down without exigent circumstances.

            In addition, the reality is a majority of police officers do not feel they are trained killers and are sympathetic to the problems of the citizens of their communities. In order to change the hearts of white police and racist police departments, they must unquestionably find God, and believe that all men are created equal. See, God evoke love and peace in all that believe, therefore, if a police is shot or black man, we pray for justice and for their families. It should be always, first to pray, and second to find resolution before shooting someone. Communities and police would create a strong bond to deter crime and help the young from becoming criminals if they amicably coexist. Mr. and Mrs. Police, who is your God, so we too can pray that you make it home to your families unhurt, and that you do not take a life unless in exigent life or death situation.
