"To everything, there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1.

Observation shows that there is order, rhythm and harmony in Nature. Everything has its definite rhythm and peculiar frequency. Night follows day just as day follows night; the sun 'rises' in the east and 'sets' in the west; after winter comes summer. Our universe is subject to the Law of Cycles; and Man is no exception.

Man is born, grows up, lives life, grows old and passes on. A seed germinates, matures, bares fruits, withers and dies. Even corporate organisations, nation-states and Kingdoms rise and fall in accord with their cycles.

The law of cycles implies that there are certain periods that are most suitable for certain activities. At such times, a positive impulse acted upon will result to a desired outcome, almost effortlessly. At other times, impulse may be negative and your insistence on its pursuit may result in great difficulty or even disaster.

"There is a tide in the affairs of men which when taken at its peak leads on to great success, but missed, leads to failure." William Shakespeare.

To everything, there is a season. There are times most suitable for business matters and there are times most suitable for family affairs. There are times most suitable for travel and there are times most suitable for rest and relaxation. There are times most suitable for matters of the heart, and there are times most suitable for intellectual pursuits.

When you live the law of cycles, you rise above the slavery and bondage of fate. You begin to exert some measure of control over the 'what' and 'when' of your life; as you effortlessly propel yourself from one success to another. To the uninformed, you are always lucky. But you know better! You simply set sail with the wind at your back, because you've come to realise that:

"… the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong; neither yet bread to the wise nor yet riches to men of understanding; nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all." Ecclesiastes 9:11.

Understanding your personal life cycle makes it easy for you to work in accord with your favourable periods to maximise your effort; and avoid the unfavourable periods to reduce difficulties and failure.

Working in accord with your natural rhythm is like swimming in the flow of the current - a little effort takes you a long way, leading to great success. You conquer nature, not by resisting her forces but by obedience to her laws.

Guided by your inner green light, you know when to move fast; and when to stop, as you wait for the red to clear. You become aware in advance of the times of opportunities and the times of obstacles, and are well prepared for them, even before they become obvious to others.

"A prudent man foresees the evil, and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished." Proverbs 22:3.

We may not have control over all circumstances of life, but surely, to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
