The Book of Numbers is the Fourth Book of the Hebrew Bible.

The Book is a Priestly redaction.

The Book derives from two censuses taken. 

The Book begins on  Mt. Sinai where God resides in the Sanctuary. 

The task at hand is to take control of the Promised land. 

The Israelites murmur against Moses and Aaron.

Murmuring against God leads to punishment by fire.

The Book of Numbers ends with a new generation of Israeli's on the Plain of Moab. They are ready to Cross the Jordan.

God promises the Israelis many descendants and a special relationship with a God. 

    Numbers under scores, faith, holiness, trust and priestly traditions and generational renewal promised by God who adds

Canaan which is a land "flowing with milk and honey."

Priestly Blessing: 

Aaron blesses the people and promises "I will place my name on their hand and bless them."
