     This film, Esteban,  is Jonal Cosculluela’s premier opening film.

It is a Cuban drama about a 9 year old Cuban boy who finds he has a piano talent. Perseverance and determinism realize Esteban’s dreams. 

     The plot is developed with the poverty of Cuba’s daily moment.

The film is a pan to dreams and hopes in contrast to the hard realities of many modern productions.

The limitations of the mother do not give her the vision to appreciate Esteban’s talents. 

Esteban is about not losing musical talent and hopes to realize these talents. It is a hymn to talent and smiles on those who achieve great dreams. Do not abandon your dreams and work hard with professionalism to achieve them is the message and content of this film?

       Esteban is a Cuban movie with a magnificent sound track by Cuban pianist Chucho Valdez featuring a 9 year old Cuban hero. His film is a risk taker contra modern films with explicit sex, violence and profanity. This film address issues of youth and darkness and poverty with sensitivity and illumination. The television text was converted to cinema drama.
