I would like to open the academic discussion to address the issues of America’s war losing Universities, for example, Transylvania University of Lexington, Kentucky graduated Jefferson Davis who became the President of the Confederacy and St. John’s University of Collegeville, MN.
St Cloud and Stearns County where I grew up was the worst rated County in the State of Minnesota after WWII. Stearns County had the highest percentage of Germans of Any County in the State of Minnesota. Garrison Keillor got his first article published in the New Yorker while living in St. Cloud. He is a product of SJU as is Gene McCarthy, Mark Kennedy and Dave Durenberger to name a few of the war loser at or out of SJU.
