I was invited to the wake and reception at the Minneapolis Athletic Club. I mentioned when I heard Bruce Dayton died. I put Mozart’s Requiem on my digital recorder and slipped into the terrrible beauty of this Requiem. After I mentioned this tribute the woman at the table next to me in Athletic Club asked me if she could share FAITH with Patrick ODougherty. I consented. She told me the most influential clergy person in her life and in Catholic and American life was ARCHBISHOP JOHN IRELAND. I mentioned and welcomed the presence of this great clergyman, John Ireland at Bruce Dayton’s funeral and wake!
