In March, I was thankful for a pot of brilliant red petunias that weathered the winter and began blooming on my deck. I hoped I could go out soon to get more flowers to add to their red glory.
In April, I learned about sewing clips , those tiny plastic clothes pin type things that are more convenient than regular pins. I discovered them while watching a video about making masks. Soon after I had some sewing clips, I used them to fasten letters on a sign celebrating a friend’s 90th Drive-By/Honking Birthday Party.
In May, I honed my meal planning to make scarce ingredients stretch and stretch between my husband’s trips to the grocery store.
In June, I am learning new lessons in forbearance for my partner in sheltering. Forbearance is a very tricky thing. I have to re-learn its mysteries and consequences every day.
Looking to July, I am hoping to get more flowers to join that pot of petunias. If I do not, I will be thankful for those red beauties still renewing themselves and turning their faces to the sun on very long days.
