It's God's wish
Synopsis
The novelette "It's God's wish" that opens up my ninth book is a thriller and an absorbing read as far as I'm allowed to judge. The entire book includes six additional short stories of suspense and adventure, which have been written since 1986.
The novelette's plot relates the struggle of a French catholic missionary in a West African country against an American married couple, which represents the Presbytrian church and wins the hearts of his ex parish members.
The entire book word count is 21,922 words. I believe that my ninth book titled "It's God's wish" represents the best of my creation during three decades of writing.
Here is a glimpse of the novelette It's God's wish:
I'm so sorry to lose your friendship dear Dave.' Father Desirade said in a low voice. 'I'll miss you terribly,' he added with emphasize putting his hand on Dave's shoulder.
'I'm very sorry too, but...' Dave answered with embarrassment.
Father Desirade realized his friend's unpleasantness and released Dave shoulder. He put his two hands on the table and bent forwards his friend.
'Isn't there a danger that you'll be sent to that blood sucking inferno in Vietnam?' He asked Dave in a shaky voice.
'No there isn't the slightest chance that I'll be sent there, my contract with the Peace Corps is sound, but I must get a transfer to anther group and somewhere else, that's all.' He said resolutely exhaling the caught air in his lungs with impatience. And again a short spell of silence ensued.
No wonder she was tempted, father Desirade thought in sober astonishment.
If he wouldn't have shaved his face two or three months, he would have looked like Jesus Christ in his full magnificence; like the Jesus depicted in the paintings of many masters of the renaissance era.
But father Desirade did not dare to open his mouth and comment on Dave’s unexpected news, because of his astonishment and not as a tactful reaction.
